Beyerdynamic Dt 770 Pro 80 Test
a lot of head-fi'ers like them but i found them to be likewise i dimensional. they are terrific cans for electronic music but i didn't similar the way vocals sounded. i found the mids to exist way too recessed for me. they did audio better when i put them on an amp but i didn't notice the difference to exist night and twenty-four hour period so i dubiousness y'all're going to fall in love with them putting them on an amp.
the one matter i don't know is if they meliorate after burn-in. i tested a pair at GC and they seemed pretty well worn then i was probably listening to a fix with quite a few hours on them. i didn't find them to be as atrocious equally you describe only i didn't like 'em nonetheless.
jon3sy, just out of marvel, practice you accept any software EQ on?
Things like bass boost, graphic equalizer, EAX audio furnishings come up to heed.
Besides, open up your creative software, and see if "headphones" are selected for speaker type. If they are, switch them to 2.0 speakers and see if that changes the sound.
Do you lot have something else at your business firm that's practiced quality yous can plug them into and run into what they sound similar from that?
Comming from your Plantronics Sound 90 headset, I discover it foreign that you take come up to these conclusions.
Still, if y'all do find you like your Plantronics meliorate after using the beyers for a few days with no EQ and whatnot, then transport the beyers back and be happy with the plantronics ^_^. And think of all the money you volition have saved. $$$
When I first got my beyers, the sound was dissimilar, merely it changed inside a few hours (I call back they simply needed to warm up from the exterior).
I tin can honestly say that this is quite odd indeed.
Perchance do y'all take your x-fi plugged into your PSU? I had a somewhat similar trouble and found that that was the problem (it'll likewise kill your soundcard if information technology isn't using a bay module so, aye).
*edit*
It may also be a defective pair. In the consequence where nothing else works, I'd return them for another.

DT770/80 Ohm cans are actually quite difficult to push nasty enough to misconstrue - they're pretty hardy as far as cans get. Equally mentioned earlier, plough off all the sound issue stuff.
Your plantronics may take sounded better because of its low resolution masking the quality of your source cloth as well. Pop a CD in your estimator and see how that sounds (make certain to pick one that isn't as well "hot" like the Crimson Hot Chili Pepper'south "Californication").
Once you've fabricated certain that you are feeding the can with as make clean a signal as possible, you should start reaping the benefits - and besides come to the realization that you have to start ripping lossless from redbook CDs
personally i'm fine with 256 AAC VBR, but anybody's ears are different.
Here's a little history -
i)iPod buds. Well, sounded ok i guess. 100 of my tunes were acceptable.
2)KSC-35. Hey, 80 percentage of my music sounded GREAT! but 20 percent sounded then bad, i had to delete it. that meant everything ripped under 128 compression.
three)MS-ane. OH Yes. But uh oh lx per centum at present was listenable, 40 percent not. This is where i started ownership more CDs and replacing the 128s with 320s where i could (lossless was also large for my 3G ipod!)
four)SR200 with HP1000 drivers. Oh crap. Tossed ALL my 128 tunes, started from scratch on the library - but those tunes sounded Astonishing. tossed the ipod buds on, fabricated a
face, crushed the buds under my heel.
so on and so on. garbage in, garbage out, even with the all-time cans! expert luck in making the DT770 piece of work for you - i've heard rigs with those cans that were definitely audiophile quality, so don't blame the cans!

Let them burn in for sure. The bass is overpowering at the start, but balances well later on 30+ hours of burn in.
Ok heres the deal. If yous don't like them for gaming and so you won't like anything
They really do demand an amp to polish for music and the bass is heavy. You'll want to game in gaming mode and mind to music in audio cosmos fashion. Go into settings in audio creation mode and 44.1khz sampling charge per unit and bit match play back on. This disabled EQ and everything. Don't forget to set the speaker selection from "headphones" to "ii/2.1 speakers" Now for gaming I institute the best to be (gaming mode) CMSS 3d ON crystalizer ON @ 50% (default) "headphones" speaker setting, EQ and bass boost OFF.
the dt-770 and even darth beyers are not my taste at all. i never heed to mine. the bass just oversteps everything else they have to offer.
you must realize almost everything you read hither is subjective.
some people recollect all that bass makes them sound very hullo-fi.
i personally like to hear bass but non experience it from headphones. there are phones that go depression without sounding like subs strapped to your head.
if i was going to listen to tupac 24/7 these would be my cans though. it makes him(r.i.p.) sound real adept. everything else though. blah.
if you are buying at a guitar store, the at-m40fs are a lot more accurate. the pads are pleather though. again, this is subjective. i do know that stock m40fs will reveal more textile in the source than fifty-fifty the darth beyer. to me at least. i tin hear stuff i cannot with the beyers.
