  • I am afraid you are going to have to look for logitech drivers

    check out their forums:

    http://forums.logitech.com/logitech/board?board.id=quickcam_software

Y'all volition see there is a few threads for vista and x64 drivers all containing numerous cheesed off logitech webcam owners.

It would seem that logitech are in no hurry to become out their driver. Meanwhile i have got to keep reconnecting my one-time xp auto but to have daily video chats with the family.

    Oh well...........

  • I have a Logitech Quickcam Zoom and this is how I got it to work:
    1. Install QuickCam 32-chip Version: 10.5.0 Build 1096b
It tin be found here: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/CA/EN,CRID=1794,contentid=10234
    2. When you go to the camera detection part where information technology asks you to plug in your camera, plug it into a new usb port (if yous had information technology plugged in when you installed Vista) and just printing skip.
    3. Windows may try and find the driver for it, you tin can abolish that too.
    4. Install the old QuickCam software (Version: 8.iv.8 build 1034A)and overwrite annihilation information technology asks you to (it will neglect to install completely because of the new version, merely information technology will put the files you lot need into the Logitech program files directory.
The former software is here: http://world wide web.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/CA/EN,CRID=1794,contentid=7649
five. Go to the windows orb (former beginning button), open control panel, go to arrangement, and so on the peak left of the window click device manager.
    6. Notice the unknown usb device (hopefully you only have one... otherwise unplug annihilation else that doesn't work or you haven't updated the commuter for yet)
seven. Right click and select update driver, choose a location to notice the commuter, navigate your way to C:\Program Files\Logitech\QuickCamWebInstall\Drivers\WinNew\PRO2
eight. Press OK or whatever, and let it install.
    9. Enjoy!

Mine didn't fifty-fifty demand to reboot and worked with the 10.5 QuickCapture software. Still demand to test with Skype and Live Messenger though.

  • Information technology did work for me likewise, I'k under Vista Ultimate and using Quickcam zoom.

Cheers so much, I almost ordered another Webcam.

and I think this is the aim of Logitech by not updating their drivers to vista.

And then I can confirm that the to a higher place instructions work 100% clear and I did test it with all programme that require a webcam (MSN, Yahoo, Skype etc..) it's POSITIVE.

Keep Upward The Expert Work, and Let's share those info to everyone.

  • Cheers very very very much.

    Works like a charm here.

Don't have to wait for logitech to give me the proper drivers.

  • Bright stuff...many thanks..

  • Worked like a charm, with one small deviation.  When I updated the drivers in control panel, instead of selecting the PRO2 binder, I had to let Windows search the entire Logitech folder.  I beloved the option to include subfolders in driver searches.  It makes things a helluva lot easier.  Thanks again, you are the human!

    - Install both files (get-go the qc828). Myabe you've to restart.
    -  Connect the webcam. Windows volition try to detect the drivers.
    - You'll have to select the drvier's path manually. Choose this folder: C:\Program Files\Logitech\QuickCamWebInstall\Drivers\WinNew\PRO2.
    - Vista volition install the drivers and your webcam should work now!

  • It works perfectly with the newest QuickCam v11.0 32bit too! Wonderful aid mate, you are the greatest!!!

  • Has anyone had this piece of work with YIM!?
Although I become a preview on my side, the recipient side always gets a black box.
    Yahoo help page states:

Some Logitech webcam drivers may cause one of the post-obit problems:

    • Windows freezes when accessing the webcam
    • A blackness screen appears when using the webcam in Messenger
    • A 'Webcam not found' error bulletin appears.
    • Afterward three seconds, the sound drops out of calls fabricated via Yahoo! Messenger

If you lot already verified that your device is compatible through the in a higher place steps and you're a Logitech webcam user, please click here to update your Logitech webcam driver.

Also has anyone tried this with the v11 of the driver now available?

  • Hello everyone,

Although I didn`t communicate with anyone direct, all of your imput & comments really helped me get my QuickCam 4000 running, I`m describing the difficulty I had in case anyone has the same. After the driver installed, no audio would come out of my speakers, almost similar the install messed around with the codecs. No sound would occur, even from startup, WMP or anything else. After the install, I recorded a video, played it dorsum in WMP & the problem fixed itself.

  • You're a good person Azural and yous'll definitely go to sky !!  I have a Logitech Quickcam Zoom too (white sphere with bluish visor) which Logitech says "won't work with Vista".  It worked fine on my old PC with WinXP and had zoom and movement detection, so was great for home security.  I was prepared to buy a new photographic camera for Vista, withal, Logitech's electric current range appears to accept been dumbed downwards and there'south cipher with these features.  And so I followed your instructions to get it working on my new Vista PC:
ane.  Installed QuickCam 32-bit Version v10.5.i for Quick Cam Pro 4000 downloaded from the Logitech website (nb: when you lot are in the webcam software downloads area of the Logitech website, y'all demand to click on "Didn't Find Your Camera?" -- this volition so take you to downloads for older models which are no longer in their current product range)
    2.  During installation, when it asked if I wanted to install the driver now, I replied "No, I will Install Later on"
    3.  And then I went to Windows Device Managing director to install the device commuter manually - constitute the USB device marked "Unknown" - right clicked to Install Driver > I will locate the driver on my reckoner > Imaging Devices > Logitech > then scrolled down the list on the right and selected Quick Cam Pro 4000 (ignore the warning)
    4.  Voila - the Quickcam Zoom now works fine on Vista.  Unfortunately, Ill0gitech'due south electric current quickcam software range has much less functionality than the erstwhile Image Studio that I had before (the new stuff seems to be designed only for kiddies with IM)
    5.  SO I purchased Bluish Iris webcam software (for Vista) from Perspective Software - approx. $19 - this is designed for home security, and has full functionality including move detection - you can record video and snapshots and set your own frame charge per unit, resolution, sensitivity, etc.
vi.  Bingo !!  Now my true-blue former Quickcam Zoom is happily cruising forth on Vista doing pretty much what it used to - no thanks to the marketing geniuses at illogiteck
    7.  NB:  for both the Logitech Wecam awarding and Blue Iris, select "Launch at Startup" = NO
    8.  When you launch Blue Iris, the Logitech desktop shortcut thingie will pop upward (just ignore it, or go out it)
nine.  Y'all tin launch either the Logitech Webcam application OR Bluish Iris, notwithstanding, if you launch Logitech Webcam first, and then endeavor to launch Bluish Iris, Blue Iris may say "Photographic camera not Connected" (because the Logitech Webcam application grabbed it showtime; still, you can run both applications simultaneously if y'all want, provided yous launch Blue Iris outset).

  • Oh my God! Something that FINALLY works! I've been trying to get my Quickcam Zoom installed on Vista for most 2 months now. I gave up several times then changed my listen & tried again with no luck whatsoever. Just last week I put the damn thing upwardly for sale & went & bought a Lifecam VX-grand ii days ago. It's OK, but I liked the Logitech much better. Well I didn't finish up selling information technology thank God & at present that I have it up & running I'll be taking the new one back. You are a true lifesaver Azural. I should take my refund & purchase yous a overnice present. LOL! Thanks and so much. I love you man!

  • I take windows vista 64 bit just tin't detect driver

  • It looks like they might accept taken downward the qc828en or qc828enu file. I'm running xp x64 and I suspect that this fix'll do the trick if I can get a hold of those files..

  • I just had a matter in the logitech back up forums, I'll exist posting screen shots here in a bit as they deleted the postings.

  • It's been brought to my attention that the 32 bit xp drivers .inf files can be decorated to work with xp x64 (and likely vista). There'southward a document that I'm going to be going from on that linked below, if anybody else is interested in taking a look. This just makes it even more retarded that logitech didn't do information technology themselves.

    http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/driver/install/64INF_reqs.mspx

  • Thanks, this was VERY helpful!

  • You oasis't done the file ornament or have any additional info exercise y'all? I haven't looked into it notwithstanding since my last post actually.

  • Were you lot able to produce some working drivers? I oasis't done whatever work since my last post to be honest.

  • This play a joke on doesn't work with XP x64 every bit eight.iv.viii doesn't have an x64 version. Nethertheless I was able to install my Logitech QuickCam Zoom (USB pid 08b4) using the following method:

    1. Download ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/quickcam/qc1051enu_x64.exe

    2. Unpack Drivers dir using Rar or 7z

three. In file Drivers\x64\PRO64\lpro64v.inf supercede all "08bd" with "08b4" or just add the corresponding lines

iv. When asked to install drivers choose ...(advanced) and select Drivers\x64\PRO64\ to search for drivers

five. Select Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000 and continue with installation.

This made my Logitech QuickCam Zoom to work in Skype perfectly.

I suppose you tin can install the Logitech QuickCam software afterward information technology. I simply don't need information technology.

As well I suppose this will work with Vista x64 merely I don't have one at hand to try out.

  • I take a question for you.  I went to the wite on your step #one, but could not locate what you are talking nearly.  The link doesn't take to directly to the version i am supposed to download, so how do i find it on Logitech's site??  Thank you for your help!

  • I followed this method as advocated past Carbon Unit of measurement but without success.   In Windows Device Manager I could discover no reference to Imaging Devices or indeed to Quick Cam Pro 4000.  A search of the computer reveals that this is not mentioned anywhere.  The camera light comes on and when an attempt to operate it is made a bulletin is displayed to the effect that the photographic camera is not properly connected - unsurprisingly !

Has anyone else whatever other bright ideas ?

  • Great post, worked like a charm in msn messenger.  I've had this cam in storage for most 1 year, go figure lol. Thank you for the mail service!

Been pulling my hair out trying to get information technology to work on x64

  • Out of agony I downloaded and installed the qc848enu.exe file (in place of the qc828enu.exe file in the instructions in a higher place) from the logitec FTP site and everything seems to be working OK. I'yard running Vista 32 bit.

  • Can you let me know when, then i tin can pay it!!!

  • This solution is great! I use Vista home premium 32 bit.  I downloaded qc848nld.exe and the newest qc1150.exe. I installed the qc848, restarted my computer. Installed qc1150 and waited for the connect screen. Equally soon as you connect the webcam windows kicks in. Skip the connect screen from the logitech install and end the installation of the program. So cull install driver from the windows screen and signal that you want to search your drive for the commuter. Go to the path Bajo en calorías mention and the commuter installs without a problem.

My camera came upwardly every bit a Quickcam Zoom as information technology should and works fine in all programs.

    Thanks for the tip guys!

Seems to be working okay now and in SKYPE every bit well.

Settings nevertheless, can't exist changed (darn!)

  • FOR WIN 7 x64:

    Download ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/quickcam/qc1051enu_x64.exe

In the folder chosen Drivers\x64\PRO64\ open up lpro64v.inf and supervene upon all "08bd" with "08b4" or just add the corresponding lines

Install software (skip connect cam) Become to "device manager" (reckoner/ right click - properties) select faulty unit of measurement in the list and click "update commuter"

  • After reading this huge thread, trying to install my quickzoom (blue) on windows 7 ultimate 32 bits I finally manage to get it working !

I was having the same probleme as many others, after reading the excellent walkthroug by Azural, in the end information technology didn't work, always the same error "Window establish the drivers but cannot installed it, not establish the specified files" blabla bla.... it was so frutrating !

But in the end, after reading this page entirely i found that all of the driver were not working because it's not for the same camera and cheers to Tafari who pointed out that i accept to use 08b3 instead of 08b4.

I just download the qczoom.zip change all the 08b4 by 08B3 and it worked !!! freaking, hell yea!!

And so thanks all of you lot, and i hope this won't go with no attending.
