How To Fill Empty Space In Drawings

My sketchbook is all about getting ideas out of my caput, it is a place to practice and a place to warm up my creative muscles. Because I spend a lot of time sketching and keeping a visual journal, a Large office of my procedure is filling a page. Nearly of the time when I sit downwards to draw or doodle I endeavor to fill all the white infinite on the page with something...anything! The daily do of working from first to finish and filling white space has go a great lesson in learning (and embracing) the subject it takes to complete a creative project. Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite uncomplicated ways to fill white space.

In my opinion color is ane of the easiest ways to make full white space. If left white, the subject affair is is nice but if you cull to fill the space effectually that subject matter with color, things begin to Popular and instantly become more dynamic.

Tip- Try adding more saturated color along the edges of your drawing this will go things to jump off the page fifty-fifty more.

Free writing, journaling and calculation text to white infinite is a bang-up mode to not only fill the infinite but it is besides a fun manner to keep a journal.

Depending on your subect affair you can add together observations, inspiration, ideas, even recipes!

TIP- Effort getting creative with the placement of your writing. Add text inside the borders, in between shapes and around your subject affair.

I beloved to doodle and I have discovered that elementary shapes or pattern are a neat way to fill white space. Use all those nooks and crannies in between your subject matter and fill them with smaller doodles.

TIP- Keep it simple with dots and dashes or get more than complex with intricate lines and pattern.

Theres is no rule that says that white infinite needs to be filled with make clean details! 1 of my favorite ways to fill up space is with lots of messy swipes of color, drips, scribbles and expressive marks.

TIP: Gear up out to "attack" your sketchbook page like you would a mixed media project. Begin with a colorful, messy and expressive background and and then draw over the elevation.

As much as I dearest trying to make full all the white infinite on a page, there is something quite cute near holding onto some of that blank space!

TIP: Try drawing from the corner of the page or offsetting your drawings to one side this creates visual harmony between your drawing and the white infinite.
